The Promise  You can have what you really want.  by Mark Whitwell
Contrary to what you may have been led to believe, Yoga is not a matter of difficult attainments toward a future result. Yoga is your direct participation in the nurturing power of this cosmos that is presently arising as the pure intelligence, function and the beauty of life that is you. No matter your age or health or cultural background, you too can experience this power and feel its effects on every aspect of your life.  In this little book you'll learn a simple but profound breathing practice and hear a few stories from others who have learned to get what they really want out of life.

The Promise of Love, Sex and Intimacy:  How a Simple Breathing Practice Will Enrich Your Life Forever. by Mark Whitwell
This book is so timely and needed in our culture which is both sex-obsessed and sex-negative, a very unhealthy combination leading to all manner of dysfunction.  It's nothing new, this gnostic dualism, the divorce of Spirit from matter, the insidious belief that the soul is good and the flesh is evil, which has unfortunately pervaded not only the Church but also most mainstream yoga schools, resulting in estrangement from God, from ourselves and each other.  Mark offers a simple method that anyone (not just yogis!) can do to bring healing and experience our essential wholeness, which will also return sex to its proper spiritual place in the context of love and intimacy.
Yoga of Heart, The Healing Power of Intimate Connection by Mark Whitwell, who studied with Krishnamacharya and Desikachar in their home for many years.  This is what yoga is all about!  A companion DVD is available with the book.
The Heart of Yoga, Developing a Personal Practice by T.K.V. Desikachar, the son of Krishnamacharya, the teacher of all the modern teachers including B.K.S. Iyengar, Pattabhi Jois and Indra Devi.  This is the authoritative technical manual on classical hatha yoga going back to its source.  Desikachar lived and studied with his father his whole life and presents Krishnamacharya's original, full and complete yoga teachings in this book.

Advanced Yoga Practices
This is a very thorough self-study program covering all of the major classical yoga techniques from basic meditation and pranayama to more advanced practices such as tantric sex, as well as discussion of Patanjali and the different limbs of yoga.  The free Lessons offer a balanced and grounded approach with an emphasis on how our personal practice transforms the way we live and relate to others, resulting in an outpouring of divine love and service in our worldly life.  AYP also offers in-depth discussions of all aspects of yoga in a Forum where students can ask questions and converse with other practitioners.

New!  AYP Plus is now available, offering expanded lessons and advanced training for a modest subscription fee.
